INTERMEDIATE PHASE

From grade 4 – 6 schooling is subject-specific. Here, educators are experts in their respected fields. Thus, learners are provided with specialized teaching and learning programs. The primary purpose of the aforementioned programs is to encourage learners to demonstrate integrated knowledge and skills of the learning material they encounter in each subject. Here, learners are further encouraged to apply their gained knowledge and skills. In the Intermediate phase, educators not only teach specific subject matter but must also promote learners’ social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.

Educators apply the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) issued by the Western Cape Education Department (WCED), some alterations have been made to accommodate our learners with specific educational needs.
